The New Bedford 2018 Point-In-Time (PIT) Count is approaching fast and your help is needed! This year, the homeless count is scheduled to commence on Wednesday, January 24th @ 2pm until Thursday, January 25th @ 2pm (24 Hours). Please be part of the Count!
HOW TO HELP…
PIT Volunteers. Fifty (50)+ or more volunteers are needed to help conduct the PIT Count. Teams of volunteers will be out surveying from Wednesday, January 24th @ 2pm thru Thursday, January 25th @ 2pm. Volunteers are asked to sign up for a two hour period. Similar to last year, volunteers will have the option of signing up just as a single volunteer or you can develop your own team of three or four people. If you are developing your own team, please have your team members sign up as well, and send an e-mail to Danielle Brown indicating who will be on your team. In order to sign-up, please click on the following hyperlink: Survey monkey. If you have any questions about volunteering, please contact Danielle Brown, Welcome Home Program, at dbrown@steppingstoneinc.org or (508) 984-7514.
Gift Items. Donations or gift items that will be placed into backpacks and distributed to anyone who completes a PIT survey or is in need are welcomed! The following gift items are most appreciated: i.e. socks, hats, gloves, bottled water, flip top canned food, hand / foot warmers, toiletries, gift cards, etc. Please bring all donations and gift items to PAACA @ 360 Coggeshall Street, New Bedford. If you have any questions about the gift items, please contact Jamie Casey, PAACA at jcasey@paaca.org or (508) 997-9051.
If you are unable to participate, please share this information with your friends and colleagues. Please help get the word out! Keep an eye out for more information as additional news about the count and training will be forthcoming and check out the PIT Count Logistics Sheet available here. Please contact Wendy Bluis, Family Preservation Program at WBluis@hptc.org or (508) 991-7487 if you have any questions about the count and/or becoming a volunteer.
